Rodney Anderson, of Dawson MN passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024 at his home in Dawson at the age of 77.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with Pastor Kendall Stelter officiating.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. The family will designate memorials to a charity of their choice in the near future.

Rodney Bruce Anderson was born December 5, 1946, in Montevideo, MN to Walter and Lucille (Peterson) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at United Methodist Church in Montevideo. Rodney attended and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1964. After high school he attended and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a bachelor’s degree in education. He was drafted and then enlisted in the United States Army in 1969, serving his country in Germany and received his honorable discharge in 1971. He was united in marriage to Susan Stratton on February 17, 1968 (Appleton, MN), to this union three boys were born: Trevor, Jeff, and Jeremy. He taught 6th grade and 4th grade for over 30 years, coaching a variety of sports during his early year/mid years.
Rodney was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where he served as treasurer for many years. He also was a member of the Dawson VFW, and active member of the Dawson-Boyd School District teacher’s association. Rodney loved watching sports, especially following his children and grandchildren in their many activities. He would frequently attend Dawson-Boyd Blackjack events and followed all Minnesota sports teams. Rodney stayed active with his many hobbies such as yard work, woodworking, hunting, fishing, golfing, and bowling.
He is survived by his wife, Susan. Son, Trevor (Paulette) of Jackson, MN, grandchildren, Jacob Peterson (Jennifer Gish) and Shaun Anderson. Son, Jeff (Alisa) of New Ulm, MN, grandchildren, Makena Otto (Tyler Walls) and Makiah Otto. Son, Jeremy (Eva) of Minneapolis, MN, grandchildren, Phoebe and Walter Anderson. Brother, Richard (Linda) Anderson and sister-in-law, Catherine (Mike) Fisher and numerous extended family and friends.
Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, and mother-in-law, Viola Stratton.
