Adalene Palke died Monday, April 5, 2010 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 90. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 9:30 AM at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Montevideo with Pastor John Runyan officiating. There will be a visitation at the Braman Mortuary in Omaha, NE Thursday evening from 6-8:00 PM and the burial will be on Friday at 10:00 AM at Flower Hill Cemetery in Omaha with Pastor Stan Manus officiating. Adalene Palke was born on September 2, 1919 in Omaha, Nebraska to Fred and Emma (Neuhaus) Palke. She grew up in Omaha, graduating from Benson High School in 1936. After high school, Addie attended and graduated from Van Sant Business School of Omaha. She then moved to California where she lived and worked for approximately 10 years. In 1958 she returned to Omaha and was employed by Bell Federal Credit Union as a loan officer until her retirement in 1994. In her retirement years she enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. The greatest joy of her life was accepting Jesus Christ as her Savior when she was 12 years old. She continued to serve the Lord all her life and was an active member of Temple Baptist Church in the Benson neighborhood of Omaha. In 2008, Addie moved to Montevideo, MN to be closer to her brother and sister and their families. A 90th birthday party was held for her last September at the Cornerstone Baptist Church where she was a member. On Monday, April 5, 2010, Addie passed away at the Montevideo hospital. Surviving her are her sister Margaret Johnson of Montevideo, MN and sister-in-law, Virginia Palke of Clara City, MN, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother George (and Violet) Palke, brother Fred Palke, brother-in-law Harry Johnson, and one sister in infancy.
