Adela Cobb

April 5, 1932 — November 11, 2016

Adela "Della" Cobb, of Maynard, died Friday, November 11, 2016 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 84.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Maynard Lutheran Church.  Rev. Amy Juel will officiate and interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens, rural Montevideo.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, from 5-7:00 PM at the Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo with a prayer service at 6:30 PM.  There will also be visitation at the church for one hour before the service.

Adela Ann (Refsland) Cobb was born April 5, 1932 in Sacred Heart Township of Renville County, MN the daughter of Christ and Celia (Engebretson) Refsland.  She was baptized and confirmed in Sacred Heart and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1950.  She was united in marriage with Howard Cobb June 28, 1953 at Opdahl Lutheran Church near Sacred Heart.  They made their home in Maynard, MN.  Howard died November 10, 1974.  Adela worked at VSC in Clara City, Warners in Sacred Heart and also at Budger’s Café in Maynard for over 25 years.  She has been a member of the American Legion Auxiliary since 1961, and an active member at Maynard Lutheran Church in Circle, the Communion Team, and as a Sunday School Teacher.  She enjoyed scrap-booking, was a wonderful seamstress, and loved to cook, bake, and make lefse.  Adela adored her granddaughters.

She is survived by her sons: Bradley (LaNae) Cobb of St. Joseph, MN and Bruce (Melaney) Cobb of Tacoma, WA; three granddaughters: Tyla Cobb, Amanda Cobb, and Lindsay Cobb; two great-grandchildren: Makenna and Jayce; two brothers: Cecil (Evie) Refsland of Rochester, MN and Jacob (Shirley) Refsland of Montevideo, MN; a sister, Marcella (Duane) Standfuss of Danube, MN; sister-in-law, Sharon (John) Sietsema of Sacred Heart, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Howard; a granddaughter, Tia Cobb; two brothers: Harvey and Russel; sister, Vangie (LeRoy) Grabow; and two sisters-in-law: Alice and Marlys.

A special thank you to the staff at Luther Haven Nursing Home for the wonderful care provided to Della.  Additionally, the family would like to thank sister-in-law Lorna Cobb for her friendship, care and support to Della.
