Adeline Koch

Adeline Koch, of Montevideo died on Monday, February 25, 2008 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 89. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 29, 2008 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Donald S. McKee officiating. Interment will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening with the family present from 4 - 6 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Adeline (Erickson) Koch was born on August 4, 1918 in Minnesota Falls in Yellow Medicine County, MN to Henry and Anna (Stenseng) Erickson. She was baptized and confirmed at Rock Valle Lutheran Church. She graduated from Hanley Falls High School and attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis. On June 8, 1941 she was united in marriage to Herman Koch at Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church near Hanley Falls, MN. While Herman served in the US Army they lived in Oklahoma City, Florida and Colorado. Following his discharge, they lived for a short time in Shakopee and Jordan, MN before moving to Montevideo. Adeline was a long-time member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church, was in the Elizabeth Circle and loved to sing in the Ladies Choir. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 57 years. She enjoyed sewing, card and bridge playing, loved to cook and entertain, and loved music, playing both the piano and organ. She was especially fond of her family. Adeline is survived by her husband, Herman; two children: Dianne Bourne and her husband Gary of Deephaven, MN and David Koch and his wife Kathy of Bloomington, MN; five grandchildren: Kara (Dan) Beck; Kelly (Andrew) Smith; Kim (James) Collins; Kristen Workman and Robert Workman; ten great-grandchildren: Grace, Richard, Henry, Frank, Adeline, William, Matthew, Ben, Aubrey and Jamison; as well as by a number of nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Irwin and Kenneth Erickson; and by four sisters: Inga Farmen; Tina Graves; Idell Dalager and Judith in infancy.
