Adolph Molde, formerly of the Big Bend Community, died on Saturday, August 16, 1997 at the Guadalupe Valley Nursing Home in Seguin, Texas, at the age of 86.
Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 20, 1997 at 10:30 A.M. at the Big Bend Lutheran Church with Rev. Marlan Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening and with the family from 7 - 8 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Adolph Leonard Molde was born on February 27, 1911 in Montevideo, MN to Ingvald and Birgit (Langhough) Molde. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo. He attended Montevideo schools and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1929. He graduated from Minneapolis Business College in 1930 before returning to farm near Milan, MN. On November 28, 1937 he was united in marriage to Eleanor Heieren at Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Baxter. He farmed until retiring in 1970. He has been living in Seguin, Texas for the past few years. He was a long-time member of Big Bend Lutheran Church. He made dozens of grandfather clock cases, spinning wheels and assorted other wood projects. Playing violin was an activity that was close to his heart.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; one daughter, Betty Wilkens and her husband Thomas of Seguin, TX; two sons: Ronald Molde and his wife JoAnn of Montevideo, MN and Kent Molde and his wife Julie of Eden Prairie, MN; seven grandchildren: Steve Molde and his wife Sheila of St. Cloud, MN, Brian Molde of Peoria, AZ, Nathan Molde and Darci of Montevideo, MN, Kim Herrick and her husband Tom of Atlanta, GA, Nick Wilkens of Seguin, TX, Ryan Molde and Britt Molde of Eden Prairie, MN; three great-grandchildren: Joseph, Adam and Christopher Molde; three sisters: Inez Heieren and her husband Chester of Montevideo, MN, Borghild Loken of Lodi, CA, and Josephine Randisi of Mountain View, CA; and two brothers: Ingmar Molde and his wife LaVonne of Montevideo, MN and Luthard Molde and his wife Betty of Montevideo, MN.
He was preceded by his parents and by an infant daughter - Marcia.
