Agnes Christiansen, of Maynard, died on Sunday, April 21, 2002 at the Granite Falls Hospital at the age of 90. Funeral services were conducted on Thursday, April 24, 2002 at 1:00 PM at Maynard Lutheran Church with Rev. Mary Hovland officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Agnes Christiansen was born on February 27, 1912 in Lone Tree Township to Henry and Madeline (Reiners) Broers. She grew up in Lone Tree Township, was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Clara City and attended Clara City Schools. On January 15, 1936 she was united in marriage to Gilbert Christiansen. They farmed side by side for many years and moved to Maynard upon retirement. Her Lord was an important part of her life and she was an active member of Maynard Lutheran Church and WELCA. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She loved children of all ages, was always ready to give a little help or guidance and maybe a slice of her homemade bread. She enjoyed singing, quilting, crocheting and reading.
She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gilbert in 1994; an infant son, Dennis Lloyd Christiansen; as well as brothers and sisters.
