Agnes Gimmestad, of Montevideo, died on Monday, November 12, 2001 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home at the age of 76.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, November 16, 2001 at 1:30 PM at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Warren Broughton officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Agnes Lorraine (Boettcher) Gimmestad was born on August 30, 1925 in Grand Rapids, MN to Harry and Hulda (Nelson) Boettcher. She was raised in the Warba, MN area and was united in marriage to Manford Nelson on April 30, 1947. Following his death in an auto accident in 1954, she was united in marriage to Selmer Gimmestad in 1959. Selmer died on 1972. She worked for several companies as a seamstress before retiring in 1999. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, reading, fishing and her family.
She is survived by children - Alden Nelson and Catherine Notch of Montevideo, MN; Francine Dahlager of Hutchinson, MN; Selmer Gimmestad, Jr. of Willmar, MN and Michael Gimmestad of Lino Lakes, MN; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; brothers - Darrold Boettcher of Montevideo and Leonard Boettcher of Warba, MN; and a sister - Vernice Erickson of Montevideo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by husbands, Manford Nelson and Selmer Gimmestad, brothers, Frank and Clarence Boettcher, a sister, Isabella Anderson, and by an infant sister, Betty Lou Boettcher.
