Agnes Milbrandt, of Montevideo, died on Friday, September 26, 2003 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 96.
Funeral services will conducted on Monday, September 29, 2003 at 10:30 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo with Rev. Paul Woolverton officiating. Interment will be in the Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening, with the family from 5 - 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Agnes Berdine (Christenson) Milbrandt was born on February 12, 1907 in Swenoda Township, Swift County, MN to Albert and Minnie (Rodahl) Christenson. They moved to Tioga, SD in 1908 and returned to the Benson area in 1918. She graduated from Benson High School in 1925 and did Normal Training at Windom College in Montevideo. On January 2, 1932 she was united in marriage to Fred Milbrandt in Swift County, MN. They lived in rural Montevideo for several years before moving into Montevideo. She worked as a cook at Jeb’s, Lottie’s and Tise’s Café before retiring in the late 1970's. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and was active in circle. She enjoyed playing cards, crocheting and fishing.
She is survived by one son, Norman Milbrandt and his wife Delores of Montevideo, MN; one daughter, LaVon Strong and her husband Don of Willmar, MN; five grandchildren: Steven (Chris) Kurtzbein, Lynette (Gene) Struck, Mike Milbrandt, Jim (Carol) Milbrandt, and Pam (Harold) Wilkenson; thirteen great-grandchildren: Courtney, Nathan, Paul, Brian, Shana, Kellie, Amber, Justin, Robert, Lucas, Arianna, Danae and Demi; eight great-great-grandchildren: Ean, Eric, Jonah, Abigail, Randy, Brinn, Faith and Jarrett; one brother, Edgar Christenson of Benson, MN; two sisters: Olga Skare and Leila Ellingson of Benson, MN; two sisters-in-law: Myrt Christenson of Benson, MN and Grace Christenson of Fosston, MN; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred in 1966; two brothers: Alvin and Robert Christenson; and two sisters: Minda Skare and Hazelle Christenson.
