Agnes Marie (Engelke) Nelson

Agnes Nelson, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, May 20, 1997 at the Hennepin Co. Medical Center in Minneapolis at the age of 57.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday. May 23, 1997 at 1:30 PM at Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Norman Aronsaon officiating.  Burial was in  the Bethel Covenant Cemetery in Ellsworth, WI.

Agnes Marie (Engelke) Nelson was born on July 16, 1939 in Chippewa County, Minnesota to Adolph and Eldora (Allen) Engelke.  She grew up in Chippewa County and attended Montevideo Schools.  On August 30, 1958 she was united in marriage to Wayne Nelson in Madison, MN.  She lived in a variety of Minnesota locations and Ellsworth, WI. before moving to Montevideo in 1983.  She lived in Montevideo until entering the Granite Manor in Granite Falls about two years ago.

She is survived by five children: Wayne (Carrie Miller) Nelson of Brainerd, MN, Debbra (Alfred) Domeier of Montevideo, MN, Joseph Nelson of Rochester, MN, Michael Nelson of Marshall, MN, and Douglas (Lynnette) Nelson of Portland, OR; twelve grandchildren; five brothers: David Engelke of Brooklyn, NY, Greg Engelke of New London, MN, Randolph Engelke of Montevideo, MN, James Engelke of Belgrade, MN, and Billy Engelke of Montevideo, MN, three sisters: Bev Winters of Montevideo, MN, Sandi Specht of Wood Lake, MN, and Rita Murphy of Alaska; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne in 1979; and three brothers:  Edward, Bruce and Steven Engelke.
