Albert Stanville Erickson

June 15, 1921 — February 7, 2006

Montevideo, MN

Albert “Bill” Erickson, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, February 7, 2006 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 85.  Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, February 10th  at 1:30 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Tom Opoien officiating.  Interment will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to services on Saturday at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Albert Stanville “Bill” Erickson was born on June 15, 1921 in Big Bend Township of Chippewa County, MN to Edward and Agnes (Angrimson) Erickson.  He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church and attended school in District 11.  He farmed for many years in Big Bend Township before retiring.  He moved into Montevideo in 1987.  He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Watson and had been a member of the Eagle’s and the Watson Lions Club.  Albert enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, new cars and especially visiting with friends and family.

He is survived by four sisters: Ruth Torgerson of Big Stone City, SD, Arlene Poppe of Montevideo, MN, Leona Frank of Willmar, MN and Loretta (Arne) Lange of Montevideo, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; a sister, Verna Norby in 2006; and four brothers-in-law: Larry Frank, Lee Poppe, Art Torgerson and Gordon Norby.
