A. Clifford Anderson, of rural Montevideo, died on Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at the Chippewa Co - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 94. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Baxter with Rev. Diane Odermann officiating. Interment will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5-7 P.M. and a prayer service at 6:30 P.M., all at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Albin Clifford Anderson was born on January 1, 1913 in Camp Release Township of Lac qui Parle County, MN to Anders and Hannah (Moen) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Baxter and attended school in District #15. On January 7, 1951, he was united in marriage to Sylvia Steffenson at the Our Saviours Lutheran parsonage in Montevideo. He was a long-time farmer in Camp Release Township and was a life-long member of Our Saviours Lutheran Church of Baxter. He loved farming and livestock, especially dairy calves and horses. He was fond of Studebakers, enjoyed family gatherings and loved to tell stories and jokes. His greatest quality was the ability to pull a prank so he could laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; five children: Conrad Anderson and wife Deb of Red Lodge, MT, AlRoy Anderson and special friend Jan Larson of Montevideo, Cynthia Johnson and husband Mark of Montevideo, Steven Anderson and wife Dianne of Montevideo and Shelley Anderson and special friend Marc Cliplef of Montevideo; eight grandchildren: Stacy Johnson, Lisa Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Alanna Anderson, Ross Anderson, Jordan (and Jennifer) Anderson, Blake Anderson and Zach Larson; one great-grandchild, Brendan McIntosh; as well as by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Marion Gustafson, Agnes Janke, and by a sister Myrtle in infancy; and by a brother, Gordon Anderson.
