Alden Jerome Johnson

Alden Johnson of Madison died on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Madison Lutheran Home at the age of 74.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 at 2PM at Garfield Lutheran Church.

Alden “Buddy” Johnson was born to Albert and Millicent (Larson) Johnson on October 13, 1946 at the Dawson Hospital.  Alden was baptized and confirmed at the Garfield Lutheran Church, rural Madison.  Buddy attended country school and graduated from Madison High School in 1966.  Over the years buddy did a variety of jobs including work at the Chevrolet garage in Madison and Larson Tilling in Dawson.  Alden helped on the family farm and raised livestock.

Buddy enjoyed the outdoors especially going hunting and fishing.  He also liked to go to the VFW to visit with friends, play cards, and have a Coke or Sun Drop.

Alden is survived by his sister, Lorna Johnson, Madison, MN; brother-in-law, Arlan Gustafson, Granite Falls, MN; nephews, John (Beth) Gustafson, Groton, SD; Michael (Guisela) Gustafson, Atlanta, GA; niece Mary Gustafson, Montevideo, MN; great -nieces: Taylor Ann, Alxies, Hannah; great-nephew, Skylar; as well as cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Millie Johnson; two sisters: Phyllis Gustafson, Gail Chapman, brother, Curtis Johnson; and brother-in-law, Melvin Chapman.
