Alfred Lund, 88, of Clara City and formerly of rural Montevideo died February 18, 1997 at the Clara City Community Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 1997 at 11:00 A.M. at Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church, rural DeGraff, MN. Rev. Carlton Nelson will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Friday, afternoon and evening with the family present from 6-7:00 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo and at the church for one hour before services on Saturday.
Alfred Ingvard Lund was born March 2, 1908 in Chippewa County, MN the son of Andrew and Kari (Haugen) Lund. Alfred farmed with his brother, Olaf, until retiring in 1974. He continued to live on the farm until 1992 when he moved to the Clara City Community Nursing Home due to failing health. Alfred had a wonderful sense-of-humor and a happy-go-lucky spirit. He was fun loving and quick witted. Alfred enjoyed checkers and cards. He was a life-long member of Buffalo Lake Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his brother, Olaf of Clara City, MN; five nieces and one nephew: Leona Loken and her husband Curtis of St. Peter, MN, Arlys Jolstad and her husband Donald of Eau Claire, WI, Owen Lund and his wife Marlene of Bird Island, MN, Sharon Thorkelson and her husband Donald of Valier, MT, LeAnn Zimmerman and her husband Gene of Delano, MN, and DeAnn Hetrick and her husband Ed of Veedersburg, IN; thirteen grand nieces and nephews; seven great-grand nieces and nephews; five step-great-grand nieces and nephews; and a family friend and caregiver, Mavis Koenen of Clara City, MN.
Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister-in-law, Lilia Lund; and one nephew, Francis Lund.
