Alice Brace, of Montevideo, died on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at her home in Montevideo at the age of 85. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Alice Eva (Brinker) Brace was born on July 23, 1924 in Redwood Falls, MN to Raymond and Eva (Wilkinson) Brinker. She grew up in Redwood Falls and attended Redwood Falls Public Schools. On November 23, 1943 she was united in marriage to Edward "Eugene" Brace in Morton, MN. They lived in Vesta, MN and Morton, MN before moving to Olivia, MN in 1951. They moved to Montevideo, MN in 1978. She worked for twelve years at the Olivia Health Care Center and for over eight years at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo as a CNA. She was an active member of The Church of the Nazarene in Olivia and attended Calvary Church in Montevideo. She enjoyed sewing, doing button bracelets, working crossword puzzles and playing Yahtzee, collecting dolls and bells, traveling during retirement and caring for her children and grandchildren. Alice will be fondly remembered for her loving hugs. She is survived by ten children: Loretta Young-Love of Cataula, GA, Marilyn (and Jeffrey) Keating of Cooper City, FL, Howard (and Paula) Brace of Hartford, AL, Connie (and Bruce) Larson of Mesa, AZ, Rosalie (and Eugenio) Pequeno of Goshen, IN, David (and Nellie) Brace of Leyete, Republic of the Philippines, Carol (and Frank) King of Macon, GA, Melanie (and Manuel)Vigil of Montevideo, Timothy (and Debbie) Brace of Sumter, SC, and Kellie Brace (and Shawn Grams) of Montevideo; nineteen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; two sisters: Grace Geselle of Nampa, ID and Marjorie Wilkinson of Eagle Lake, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Eugene in 2003; one grandson, Christopher Brouwer; and a brother, Lee Overby.
