Alice Anna (Wilking) Bresson

June 28, 1920 — November 4, 2000

Montevideo

Alice Bresson, of Montevideo and formerly of Marshall, died on Saturday, November 4, 2000 at the Chippewa Co - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 80.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, November 7, 2000 at 1:30 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Leo Deitemeyer officiating.  Burial will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens in Montevideo.

Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening and with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Alice Anna (Wilking) Bresson was born on June 28, 1920 in Canby, MN  to Gerd and Anna (Winters) Wilking.  She was baptized and confirmed at Zacheius Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canby and attended rural schools.  On November 25, 1937 she was united in marriage to Everett Bresson in Canby.  They farmed in the Canby area until moving to Montevideo in 1942.  In 1960 they moved to the Marshall and Cottonwood areas.  She moved back to Montevideo in 1999 and was currently a resident of the Luther Haven Nursing Home.  She worked as a waitress at several cafes in Montevideo and Marshall.  She was currently a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo and had been a member of First Lutheran Church in Marshall for many years.  She enjoyed crocheting, all handwork and liked to collect recipes.

She is survived by four children: Ramona Stein and her husband John of Minneapolis, MN, Curt Bresson and his wife Carilyn of Fargo, ND, Elton Bresson and his wife Darlene of Bridgewater, SD and Debra Bresson of Marshall, MN; one daughter-in-law, Janis Bresson of Montevideo;  14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four sisters: Ruth Meisner and her husband Harold, Irene Sanford and Dorothy Eggers and her husband Leon of Montevideo and  Lucille Negaard and her husband Clarence of Canby, MN; one brother, Clarence “Buddy” Wilking and his wife Charlene of Spicer, MN; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Everett in 1996; one son, DeWayne “Sonny” Bresson; and two infant brothers.
