Alice Mae (Willegalle) Carter

November 12, 1932 — November 22, 2004

Montevideo

Alice M. Carter, died on Monday, November 22, 2004 at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis at the age of 72.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo.  Father Jim Devorak will be the Celebrant and interment will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.

Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with the family present from 6-8:00 P.M. and a prayer service at 7:30 PM.

Alice Mae Carter was born on November 12, 1932 at Madison, MN the daughter of Hugo and Magdaline (Thill) Willegalle.  She was baptized and took her First Communion at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Madison, MN. She attended country school at District 128 through the eighth grade and then graduated from Dawson High School in 1931.  Alice was united in marriage to Marvin Carter on March 6, 1956 and they made their home in Montevideo.  Alice was a valuable employee of MTI for 35 years.  She retired on December 21, 2000.  She was a member of VFW Auxiliary and St. Joseph Catholic Church.  She enjoyed dancing, fancy work, and spending time with her friends.

She is survived by four daughters: Jackie Wessel (Clyde Elder) of New York, NY, Barbara (Len) Koester of Eden Prairie, MN, Pamela (Charlie) Haukos of Brainerd, MN, Cindy Johnson (Percy Winters) of Montevideo, MN; two sons: Brad Carter (Jan Youngquist) of Portland OR and Michael (Kaye) Carter of Omaha, NE; eight grandchildren: Janene, Chad, Matthew, Alysia, Meagan, Brenden, Lucas, and Mikayla; one sister, Deloris Redfield of Circle Pines, MN; one brother, Arnold Willegalle and his wife Virginia of Biemen, GA; and special friend, Gerry Zwilling of Rockville, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin in 1990; one daughter, Mary Carter; one brother, Robert; and one sister, Ruth Ann Redfield.
