Alice Mae (Heschke) Christenson

Alice Christenson, of Mandt Township, died on Thursday, January 3, 2002 at the Chippewa Co - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 74.  Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, January 6, 2002 at 2:00 PM at Jevnaker Lutheran Church with Rev. Gregory Gabriel officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.
Alice Mae (Heschke) Christenson was born on May 10, 1927 in Renville County, MN to William and Martha (Degner) Heschke.  She attended schools in St. Cloud, MN, graduating from St. Cloud Tech in 1946.  On November 10, 1946 she was united in marriage to Arthur Christenson at Jevnaker Lutheran Church by Rev. C.T. Jenson.  They farmed in Mandt Township for many years before retiring.  She was a life-long member of Jevnaker Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies Aid and served as it’s secretary for many years.  She was an active member of the Disabled American Veterans and held many offices.  She loved flowers and  gardening, birds, crocheting and her family.
She is survived by seven children: JoAnne (Stan) Glimsdal of Benson, MN, Jerry (Joan) Christenson of Montevideo, Vonnie (Tony) Daub of Brooklyn Park, MN, Gail (Ron) Seeklander of Bruce, SD, Darlene (Bill) Cleland of Torrington, WY,  Richard (Donna) Christenson and Tom (Denise) Christenson of Montevideo; sixteen grandchildren: Mark Kittelson; Diane Kittelson and her fiancé Scott Cardin, Rodney (Andrea) Kittelson, Kari (Adrian) Wahlstrom, Lori Christenson and her fiancé Jesse Gladis, Sherry and Jason (Sara) Daub, Ashley & Adam Seeklander, Billie Jo (Jesse) Shaw, Scott Cleland and his fiancé Tasha Hixson, Bobbie (Jesse) Moore, and Jim, Jessica, Jeanna and Amber Christenson; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers: Donald (Norma) Heschke of Emily, MN and Clark (Betty) Heschke of Waite Park, MN; three sisters: Wilma (Selmer) Christenson of Coon Rapids, MN, Anna Marie Larsen of Montevideo and Lois (Robert) Bednar of Albuquerque, NM; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur in 1999; by her parents; two grandsons: Nathan Seeklander and Luke Christenson; and one brother, Eldon Heschke.
