Alice Evelyn (Olson) Fondingsland

Evelyn Fondingsland, formerly of Montevideo, died Sunday, February 6, 2005 at the Clarkfield Care Center at the age of 87.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 12, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.  Rev. Donald McKee will officiate and interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in St. Paul, MN.  Visitation will be held for one hour before the service.

Alice Evelyn (Olson) Fondingsland was born September 27, 1917 in Chippewa County, MN the daughter of Christian and Christine (Larson) Olson.  She grew up in Chippewa County and graduated from Maynard High School.  She was united in marriage with Lloyd Fondingsland February 3, 1945.  They lived in the Maynard, Sacred Heart, and Renville area where Lloyd was a farm laborer.  After her husband died in 1972 she lived with her son near Montevideo.  She has lived at the Clarkfield Care Center since 1996.  Evelyn enjoyed flowers and gardening.  She also liked cooking and baking.

She is survived by three children: Idell Rada of Center Moriches, NY, Debra Earl of Boise, ID, and Curtis Fondingsland of Big Bend, MN; three grandchildren: Lisa, Jodi, and Andy; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Lloyd; and two brothers: Odin Olson and Vernon Olson.
