Alice (Rand) Knoshal

December 22, 1916 — June 22, 2005

Montevideo

Alice Knoshal, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 88.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 27, 2005 at 10:30 AM at St. Johns Lutheran Church of Sparta Township, with Rev. Ronald Hobbie officiating.  Interment will be in the Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.  Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Alice Rand was born on December 22, 1916 to Henry and Jennie (Hagemeyer) Rand.  She was baptized on July 28, 1917 at Bethany Reformed in Clara City and was confirmed on May 9, 1941 at St. Johns Lutheran of Grace Township.  She attended rural schools. On July 1, 1940 she was united in marriage to Melvin C. Teichert at the Bethany Reformed Church in Clara City.  They farmed for many years in Havelock Township, moving to Montevideo in 1969.  Melvin died on June 10, 1977.  On December 18, 1987 she was united in marriage to Frank Knoshal in Alamo, TX.  Frank died on October 30, 2001.  They made their home in Montevideo. She was currently residing at Brookside Manor.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Havelock and was currently a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church.  She was active in her churches, serving as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher, an active member of the Ladies Aid and was currently an honorary member of St. Johns Ladies Aid.  She worked as a cook in the Montevideo schools for a number of years.  She enjoyed sewing, cross stitch, gardening, quilting and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by children: Raymond Teichert and his wife Jackie of Breckenridge, MN, Kermit Teichert and his wife Linda of Buffalo, MN, Roger Teichert and his wife Sharon of Apache Junction, AZ, Phyllis Weckwerth and her husband Scott of Montevideo and Richard Teichert and his wife Nancy of Montevideo; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Anne Stegeman of Willmar, MN and Evelyn Lewis of Minneapolis, MN; two brothers: Art Rand and Hank Rand, both of Murdock, MN; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; and two brothers: Harm Rand and Fred Rand.
