Allen Kittleson

Allen Kittleson, of Madison, died on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 87. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 9, 2009 10:30 AM at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison with Rev. Kirk Meseck officiating. Interment will be in the Watson Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening with the family present from 5 - 7 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Lloyd Allen Kittleson was born August 26, 1922 in Big Bend, MN the son of Fred and Lillian (Engleson) Kittleson. He was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. Allen served in the US Army during WWII. He was united in marriage with Doris Mae Norman August 18, 1943 at the Watson Lutheran Church Parsonage. After their marriage, they made their home in Montevideo before moving to Madison in 1959. Allen worked as a salesman for a beverage distributor. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Madison, the American Legion, VFW, and DAV. He enjoyed fishing, repairing lawn mowers and small engines, playing cards and going to the car races. He is survived by his wife, Doris; five children: David (and Judy) Kittleson of St. Paul, MN, Richard (and Sandie) Kittleson of Lexington, KY, Dale (and Naty) of Madison, MN, Gary (and Cheryl) of Madison Lake, MN, and Julie (and Arlyn) Lopau of Dawson, MN; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary Carlson of Madison, MN. Preceding him in death were his parents; two children: Robert Kittleson and Cheryl Kittleson; one brother, Vernon Kittleson; and one sister, Leone Kittleson.
