Alvin C. Olson

June 21, 1911 — October 14, 1993

Alvin C. Olson was born on June 21, 1911.  He was raised in Chippewa Co., Mn. by his adoptive parents - Ole and Karen Olson, and attended rural schools.  He was united in marriage to Ingeborg Raffelson on August 1, 1933.  They farmed in Chippewa Co until 1949 when they moved to a farm in Swift Co.  He farmed all his life and remained active in farming after his retirement in 1980.  He was a member of the N.F.O., was a 4H leader, and was a member of Jevnaker Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, gardening and spending time with his family.

Alvin died on October 14, 1993 near Montevideo, Mn. as the result of an automobile accident.  He is survived by his wife - Ingeborg; by sons - DeLos(Karen) of Rochester, Mn.; Duane of Pequot Lakes, Mn.; Donald(Tricia) of Rochester, Mn.; David(Judy) of Shakopee,Mn.; Kenneth(Bonnie) of Minnetonka, Mn.; and Byron(Vicki) of Benson,Mn.; by a daughter - Solveig(Gordon) Van Overbeke of Lucan, Mn.; 14 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; by brothers - Joe Egge, Harold Egge, Olaf Egge, and Thorsten Egge - all of Canada; by sisters - Beulah Johnson and Helen Wilson of Canada; MAbel Egge of New York; and Ella Johnson of Appleton,Mn.; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, by an infant daughter - Carol; and by sisters - Alfa Rud; Claudine Gilbertson; Ragna Ellingson; and Alice Gilbertson.

Services - Monday October 18, 1993   Jevnaker Lutheran Church - rural Montevideo with Rev. Gregory Gabriel officiated.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  Visitation was
Sunday afternoon and evening and with the family from 4 - 6 P.M. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
