Andrew Sease

Andrew Sease died Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Johnson Memorial Hospital in Dawson at the age of 32.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson.  Rev. Kendall Stelter will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson from 5-6:30 PM with a prayer service at 6:30.  There will also be visitation at the church for one hour before the service at the church.

Andrew Edmund Sease was born January 27, 1987 at Spencer, IA the son of Randall and Ronda (Schoelerman) Sease.  He was confirmed at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley, IA in 2001.  Andrew graduated from Hartley - Melvin - Sanborn High School in Hartley, IA in 2005 and from SDSU in Brookings in 2011 with a degree in wildlife and fisheries.  He enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and was an amazing cook. He loved to bake, grill and smoke meats in his smoker he built himself. He was always trying out new recipes that he shared with his family. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. He could make, build and fix pretty much anything. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to lend a hand.  Over the years before he moved to Minnesota in January of 2018  he farmed, managed hog barns, worked at a feed lot, and various places for the DNR. He currently worked at the Country Butcher which was a dream of his to one day run when John and Jill Storlien retired whom he admired.  He became engaged to Kristin Schutte November 30, 2019.  Andrew was a member of 4 - H, O’brien County Sportsmen’s Club, and Farmhouse Fraternity.  He took many family fishing trips including to Canada, Pierre, SD, Chamberlain, SD, the Missouri River, and to Branson, MO.

He is survived by his fiancé, Kristin Schutte of Dawson; his mother, Ronda (Robert) Hartje of Storm Lake, IA; his father, Randall (Pam) Sease of Hartley, IA; his fiancé Kristin’s parents: Joel (Lori) Schutte of Dawson; two brothers: Matthew (Megan) Sease of Polk City, IA and Paul (Bret) Wedemeyer of Casey, IA; one niece, Harper Sease; one nephew, William Sease; step-brother, Bryan (Kelly) Nieman of Omaha, NE; step-sister, Kelly (Brenton) Cederstrom of Owatonna, MN; step-grandmothers: Barbara Hartje of Storm Lake, IA and Gloria Tingle of Spencer IA; two step-nieces and nephews: Max and Alana Nieman and Nolan and Norah Cederstrom; his dog, Hazel and cat, Kitsy; and extended family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents.
