Anina Milbeck, of Montevideo, died on Saturday, March 27, 1999 at the Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo at the age of 93.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 30, 1999 at 10:00 AM at the Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Wayne Kopitzke officiating. Burial will be in Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be Monday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Anina Kristine (Lauritsen) Milbeck was born on January 5, 1906 in Montevideo, MN to Mads and Elizabeth (Jacobsen) Lauritsen. She was baptized and confirmed at Saron Lutheran Church and graduated from Montevideo High School in 1926. She attended Mayville State College, completing her studies to be a teacher in 1928. She taught rural schools in the Maynard and Boyd, MN areas for several years before moving to Kenosha, WI in 1933. On June 27, 1936 she was united in marriage to George Murray in Waukegan, IL. In 1945 they moved to Wegdahl and began to operate the Wegdahl Lunchroom, which she operated until 1965. Following the death of her husband George in 1947, she was united in marriage to Albin Milbeck in 1953. Albin preceded her in death in 1971. She worked for over 10 years as bookkeeper for Lauritsen Excavating. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church, the VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed crocheting and playing pinochle and bingo.
She is survived by a brother - Willie Lauritsen and his wife Miranda of Montevideo; by sisters - Helga Wilson of Montevideo and Emilia Mossman of Yucuipa, CA; 3 sisters-in-law and by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, a son - Kevin in 1985 and by brothers - Paul, Fred, Victor, Richard and Louie Lauritsen.
