Ann Hanson, of Montevideo, died on Monday, April 26, 2010 at her home at the age of 66. Services will be conducted on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 1:30 P.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Marie Eckberg officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Ann Shirley (Gustafson) Hanson was born on October 4, 1943 in Portland, OR to Harry and Evangeline (Botten) Gustafson. As a young girl she moved to the Montevideo area with her family. She was confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, graduated from Montevideo High School and attended business college in Minneapolis. Following the completion of her studies, she returned to Montevideo and has lived there since. She worked for twenty years in the office at Chippewa Co-Montevideo Hospital and has been working at Avenues of Care for the past couple of years. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church. She loved gardening, collecting pigs and hummingbirds, canning and making relish and making her Swedish Meatballs. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and collected and shared pictures, mementos and stories of the family and their activities. She was very fond of dogs, especially her dog, Brandy. She is survived by two daughters: Angela Hanson and her husband Dan of Eagan, MN and Tracy Jaycox and her husband Dean of Pipestone, MN; five grandchildren: Krista and Nicole Hanson and Ilienne, Andrew and Caleb Jaycox; a sister, Connie (and John) Berry of Castle Rock, CO; a brother, Ralph (and Ionia) Gustafson of Colorado Springs, CO; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Gustafson of Victoria, MN as well as by a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, David Gustafson.
