Anna Marie Abel

Anna Marie Abel died February 28, 1998 after a short illness at her home in St. Paul at the age of 51.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 4, 1998 at 11:00 A.M. at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo, MN.  Rev. Robert Ford and Rev. Gary Mikkelson will officiate. Interment will be at Florida Church Cemetery, rural Canby, MN at 2:00 PM on Wednesday.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo, with the family from 7 - 8 PM  and at the church for one hour before services on Wednesday.

Anna Marie Abel was born June 11, 1946 at Canby, MN the daughter of William and Hazel (Mikkelson) Abel.  She was baptized and confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Canby, graduated from Canby High School in 1964 and later from the Swedish Hospital School of Nursing.  She worked as a nurse in the Twin Cities at Abbott and North Memorial Hospitals, Bethany Nursing Home and later did home health care.  Anna Marie was a member of the Swedish Hospital Alumni Association, the American Cancer Society, and Central Lutheran Church in Minneapolis.  She enjoyed collectibles, antiques, reading and crafts.

She is survived by two sons: Michael Johnson of Hancock, MI and Erik Johnson of Minneapolis, MN; her mother, Hazel Abel of Montevideo, MN; and one sister, Judy Dye of Ethelsville, AL.

Preceding her in death were her father, William; and two brothers: James Abel and Steven Abel.
