Anna Elizabeth (Hohler) Brunner

March 7, 1917 — April 16, 2005

Montevideo

Anna Brunner, of Granite Falls, died Saturday, April 16, 2005 at the Granite Falls Manor at the age of 88.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2005 at 10:30 AM at First Congregational Church in Montevideo.  Rev. Jean Boese will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo with the family present from 6-8:00 PM and a prayer service at 7:30 PM.

Anna Elizabeth (Hohler) Brunner was born March 7, 1917 in Chippewa County, MN the daughter of Anton and Martha (Herman) Hohler.  She was united in marriage with Paul Brunner December 20, 1935 in Milbank, SD.  They moved to the Granite Falls area in 1952 where Paul and Anna farmed until retiring in 1982.  Paul died June 3, 1992.  She had been a resident at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo for two years before recently moving to the Granite Falls Manor.  Anna was a 4-H leader, served on the Hillside Cemetery Board, a member of the area Homemakers and Garden club, and a very active member of First Congregational Church.

She is survived by six children: Phillip (Joyce) Brunner of Granite Falls, MN, Karen Sell of Willmar, MN, Gene (Sharon) Brunner of Clarkfield, MN, Jon (Marcia) Brunner of Lake Stevens, WA, Sharon (Robert) Williamson of Aurora, CO, and Michael (Kathy) Brunner of Granite Falls, MN; ten grandchildren: Faye (Jim) Koepke, Beth (John) Wacholz, Julie (Bill) Bunch, Kim (Missy) Sell, Scott (Vickie) Sell, John Paul Brunner, Robert Williamson, Christopher Williamson, Teresa (Eric) Hildahl, and Jennifer Brunner; sixteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Herbert Hohler of Tracy, MN; and one sister, Erna Teigen of Aurora, CO.

Preceding her in death were her parents; step-mother, Cora Hohler; her husband, Paul; one sister, Hildegarde Hohler; and two brothers: Anton and Fred Hohler.
