Anna Bryan, 87, of Appleton, died Wednesday, August 22, 2001, at the Madison Lutheran Home in Madison, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial were held Sunday, August 26, 2001, at 1:00 P.M. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Appleton, MN. Fr. Paul Hadusek was the Celebrant and burial was at the Appleton City Cemetery.
Anna Catherine (Zinda) Bryan was born July 14, 1914, in West Bank Township, Swift County, MN the daughter of Mike and Josie (Rominski) Zinda. She graduated from Appleton High School in 1932. After completing Normal Training she taught rural school for several years. She was united in marriage with George T. Bryan, Jr. June 10, 1937. They made their home in the Appleton area. She began teaching country school in the late 1950's and started teaching in Appleton in 1961 where she continued until her retirement. Anna received her teaching degree from the University of Minnesota at Morris in 1966. George died December 6, 1970. She has been a resident of the Madison Lutheran Home since October of 1997. Anna was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Margaret Zacharias of Montevideo, MN; three grandchildren: Suzie Zacharias of Marshall, MN, Matt Zacharias of Marshall, MN, and Betsy Zacharias of Montevideo, MN; one brother, Bernard (Marie) Zinda of Holloway, MN; two sisters-in-law: Mildred Zinda of Appleton, MN and Irene Zinda of Westbrook, MN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, George; one grandson, Alex Zacharias; seven brothers: Joe (Jule) Zinda, John (Emma) Zinda, Henry (Dorothy) Zinda, Simon (Martha) Zinda, Severin (Ida) Zinda, Ignace Zinda, and Mike Zinda; two sisters: Lud (Vern) Crosby and Josephine (Bill) Kashmark; and several nieces and nephews.
