Anna Krugerud

August 29, 1917 — March 10, 2010

Anna Krugerud, formerly of Dawson, Hanley Falls and Montevideo, died on Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at the Belgrade Nursing Home at the age of 92. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 1:30 P.M. at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Tim Wheatley officiating. Interment will be in the Lac qui Parle Lutheran Cemetery of rural Dawson, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Anna Adeline (Hiepler) Krugerud was born on August 29, 1917 in rural Clarkfield, MN to Fred and Ida (Nohrenberg) Hiepler. She was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church in the Boyd area and attended Boyd Public Schools. In July of 1937 she was united in marriage to Arnold Krugerud in Dawson. They lived in the Dawson area until moving to Hanley Falls in 1958. About twenty years ago she moved to Montevideo and has recently lived at Mariam Manor in Sunburg and the Belgrade Nursing Home. She had been active in the Hanley Falls Quilter's Guild and the Altar Guild of Yellow Medicine Lutheran Church. She was currently a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo. She owned and operated Krugerud Re- upholstery in Hanley Falls for a number of years. She loved gardening, going to auctions and garage sales and was a foster grandparent at Sanford Elementary for nine years. Her legacy was instilling honesty and responsibility in her family. She is survived by four children: Arlen (and Roberta) Krugerud of St. Peter, MN, Ardis Knight (and friend Doug Glesne) of Pennock, MN, Arden (and Susan) Krugerud of Aurora, CO and Leland (and Paula) Krugerud of Montana; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Earl (and Geraldine) Hiepler of Willmar, MN; three sisters: Leona Krugerud of Dawson, MN, Deloris (and Woody) Kotjen of Stillwater, MN and Eyvonne (and Luther) Hoese of Granite Falls, MN; as well as by a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arnold in 1988; a granddaughter, Karla Boerner in 1999; a brother, Edwin Hiepler; a son-in-law, Donald Knight; a daughter-in-law, Jeannette Krugerud; and brother-in-laws: Merlin Krugerud and Odell Laabs.
