Anna Anderson, 95, of Maynard, died October 27, 1993 at Luther Haven Nursing Home in Montevideo.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 31 at 1:30 P.M. at Maynard Baptist Church. Pastor James Scott and Pastor Joe Donaldson will officiate and interment will be in Leenthrop Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Saturday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo, with the family from 4-8:00 P.M., and with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M.
Anna Louise Swanson was born May 15, 1898 at Minneapolis, MN the daughter of Swedish immigrants August and Augusta (Anderson) Swanson. At the age of 2 she moved with her parents to the Swanson (Emil Anderson) farm in Leenthrop Township, Chippewa County, MN. She attended school through eighth grade at District 23 and graduated from Windom College Academy in Montevideo in 1917. Anna worked at the Moyer Gate Factory and later for the Montevideo News. She was united in marriage with Emil O. Anderson July 16, 1927 in Montevideo. They made their home on her home farm in Leenthrop Township. Emil died October 28, 1990. Because of ill health, Anna lived with her daughter Evelyn for one year before moving to the nursing home in October of 1992. Anna was an active member of the Maynard Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher, church clerk, church treasurer, and Mission Circle president. She was a member of the home-makers group, the Maynard Garden Club, and Senior Citizens. Together with her husband, Emil, she was involved with many community affairs.
She is survived by two daughters: Avis Simpson and her husband John of St. Paul, MN and Mrs. Evelyn Erickson of Blomkest, MN; one son, Emil, Jr. and his wife Lois of Maynard, MN; seven grandchildren: Denise Anderson Arthur of Zurich, Switzerland, Laura Anderson Newman of Watertown, SD, Roger Anderson of Minneapolis, MN, Ross and Dana Erickson of Willmar, MN, and Ryan and Matt Erickson of Blomkest, MN; and five great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Emil; three infant children; and one son-in-law, Bob Erickson.
