Anne Weflen, of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, November 22, 2000 at her home in Montevideo at the age of 72.
Mass of Christian Burial was conducted on Saturday, November 25, 2000 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Montevideo with Fr. Jim Devorak the celebrant. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Anne Mildred (Freese) Weflen was born on Jan. 1, 1928 to Ben and Marie (Schroeder) Freese in Clara City, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Clara's Catholic Church in Clara City, MN and graduated from Maynard High School in 1945. On January 5, 1948 she was united in marriage to Morris Weflen at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Montevideo. She worked at the local Ford dealership from 1952 - 1967, as the Office Manager of Monte Cable from 1967 until retiring in 1992 and helped operate the family business - Morrie's Motor Clinic from 1968-1981. She was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Parish and served on it's cemetery board. She was active in VFW Auxiliary, Red Cross, American Legion Auxiliary; Business Professional Women and March of Dimes. She enjoyed golfing, traveling and sightseeing.
She is survived by daughters - Linda Christianson and her husband Gene of Brainerd, MN; Loretta Mortier and her husband John of Neenah, WI; and Lynette Aamot and her husband Jim of Montevideo; 7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; her mother - Marie Freese of Clara City; and brothers - Fred Freese of Bloomington, MN and Harvey Freese of Maynard, MN.
She was preceded in death by her husband Morris in 1983; her father - Ben Freese and by a brother - Francis Freese.
