Arden D Anderson

March 3, 1937 — January 6, 2020

Arden D. Anderson, of Dawson, died Monday, January 6, 2020 at Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 82.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Baxter.  Rev. Matt Danielson will officiate and interment will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held Friday, from 5-7:00 PM at Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson with a prayer service at 6:30.  There will also be visitation at the church for one hour before the service.

Arden DuWayne Anderson was born March 3, 1937 to Manford and Beulah (Faaberg) Anderson in Dawson, MN.  He was the first of twins and weighed only 2 lbs. 3 oz, being in the hospital for several weeks and brought home in a shoe box.  He was baptized May 9, 1937 and confirmed June 2, 1956 at Baxter Church.  Arden attended country school Dist #3 thru 8th grade and graduated from Dawson High School in 1955.  He joined the National Guard in 1953 and served in the US Air Force as a jet mechanic from 1956 - 1960 in Japan, Okinawa and Formosa.  He was united in marriage with Beverly Moseng April 8, 1961.  Four children were born to them: Brian, Todd, Vicki, and Lori.  His main occupations were working at the soybean plant in Dawson and farming.

Arden enjoyed dancing, golfing,  fishing, hunting and collecting fishing items.  He loved tinkering and fixing in the shed.  He could fix just about anything.  He and Bev wintered in Arizona for 18 years and traveled to Norway, England, Hawaii, Canada, and several states.  Arden served on the Baxter Town Board for 24 years, was an active member at Baxter Church, and a lifetime member of the VFW.  Most of all Arden was a loving husband, father, and grandfather known for his cheerful disposition and unconditional love.

He is survived by his wife, Bev, of 58 ½ years,  two daughters: Vicki Anderson and Lori Anderson; four grandchildren: Rachel Klaphake, Andrew Klaphake, Nicolas Knapper and Lukas Knapper; a sister, Susan (Ron) Olson; brother-in-law, Elwood Moseng; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; two sons: Todd in 2011 and Brian in 2017; a sister, Janice; and two brothers: Arlen and Donnie; brother-in-law, Harlan and his wife Carol.

Blessed be his memory.  We’re going to miss you.
