Arden Jerve, of Montevideo and formerly of the Milan area, died on Friday, April 27, 2012 at Homefront in Montevideo at the age of 79. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 1:30 P. M. at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan with Rev. Cathie Rhodes officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Arden Morris Jerve was born on January 27, 1933 in Big bend Township of Chippewa County, MN to Sherman and Thelma (Olson) Jerve. He was baptized and confirmed at Big Bend Lutheran Church by Rev. C.T. Jensen and attended rural schools. On June 30, 1951 he was united in marriage to Naome Disinger at the Milan Methodist Church. He lived most of his life in the Milan area until recently moving to Montevideo. He is survived by four children: Terri (and Mark) Thorsland of Milan, Michael (and Sue) Jerve of Milan, Melissa (and Philip) Larson of Moorhead, MN and Leanne (and Al) Stoeckman of Milan; ten grandchildren: Cory Thorsland, Christopher Thorsland, Maari Berg, Jennifer Borstad, Paul Jerve, Jon Jerve, Hans Larson, Anna Senn, Blake Sandven and Ross Sandven; seven great-grandchildren: Benjamin, Karleigh, Carter, Parker, Spencer, Bryn Naome and Kellen; a brother-in-law, Jon Tillman of Elk River, MN; and two nephews, Steven and Ben Tillman. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Naome in 1979; a son, Larry; a great-granddaughter, Megan Thorsland; a brother, Ervin Jerve; and a sister, Rachel Tillman.
