Ardis Borg, formerly of Montevideo, died on Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at the Maplewood Care Center in Maplewood, MN at the age of 85.
Interment services will be conducted on Friday, November 10, 2006 at 10:00 AM at Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Montevideo with Rev. Tim Ehling officiating.
Ardis Mildred (Ost) Borg was born on September 1, 1921 in Montevideo, MN to Harold and Mabel (Bourne) Ost. She attended rural schools and graduated from Montevideo High School. She took 2 years of teachers training at St. Cloud State College. She later obtained her Bachelor of Science Degree from Moorhead State College. She taught rural schools in the Montevideo area and later did substitute teaching in both Minnesota and Iowa. On February 13,1949 she was united in marriage to Johnnie Borg at the United Methodist Church in Montevideo. The lived for a couple of years in Sioux Falls, SD and 9 years in Igloo, SD, before moving back to Montevideo in 1964. In 1970 she moved several times including stays in Colorado and Iowa before moving back to Minnesota in 1979. She has been a resident of the Maplewood Health Care Center in Maplewood, MN for the past nine years. Her family was an important aspect of her life and she loved to carry on correspondence with them.
She is survived by two daughters: Wanda Borg of St. Paul, MN and Donna Walla and her husband David of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren: Mishelle Hartshorne and Hannah Walla of Phoenix, AZ; two great-grandchildren: Taylor and Ashley Hartshorne; two sisters: Lois Saue of Spokane, WA and Marlis Kvanli of Willmar, MN; as well as by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Johnnie in 1967.
