Ardis Knight

Ardis Knight of Clear Lake, MN and formerly of Montevideo, MN died at Hennepin County Medical Center on Saturday, April 27, 2024 as a result of an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Salem Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Sam Kautz officiating.  Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 5 to 7 PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Ardis Irene Marie Knight was born on August 9, 1939 in Madison, MN to Arnold and Anna (Hiepler) Krugerud.  She grew up in the Dawson area and graduated from Dawson High School. She was united in marriage to Donald Knight on August 8, 1959 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Montevideo.  This marriage was blessed with four children: Karla, Brian, Kevin and Brad.  Besides raising her family Ardis was employed for many years as a secretary for the Montevideo School District at Ramsey School.  Following her retirement in 2001 she moved to Kensington, MN and then to Norway Lake while enjoying winters in Texas.  She was blessed to meet her partner, Doug Glesne and spent many years together until Doug’s death in 2022.

Ardis was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Sunburg, MN for many years.  She was also a member of the New London American Legion Auxiliary.  Besides cherishing her time with family and friends she enjoyed gardening and bird watching. She also enjoyed spending time in the winter in Texas and in the summer at the lake cabin with friends and family.

Ardis is survived by her children: Brian (Caty) Knight, Kensington, MN, Kevin (Nancy) Knight, Alexandria, MN, Brad (Nicole) Knight, Murfreesboro, TN; seven grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; siblings: Arlen (Roberta Manser) Krugerud, St. Peter, MN, Arden (Sue) Krugerud, Scottsdale, AZ, Leland (Paula) Krugerud, Wise River, MT; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold and Anna Krugerud; husband, Donald Knight, daughter, Karla (Dan) Boerner, and partner, Doug Glense.
