Ardyce (Bremseth) Albrecht

July 20, 1923 — June 15, 2017

Ardyce Albrecht, of Montevideo died on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Home Front First in Montevideo at the age of 93.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 19,  2017 at 10:00 AM at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Montevideo with Rev. Marie Eckberg officiating.  Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday, June 18, 2017 from 5-7 PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

Ardyce Elaine (Bremseth) Albrecht was born July 20, 1923 in Hantho Township, Lac qui Parle County, MN the daughter of Richard and Alma (Pederson) Bremseth.  She was baptized and confirmed at MN Valley Lutheran Church and graduated from Appleton High School in 1940.  Ardyce was united in marriage with C.A. “Bud” Albrecht September 6, 1941 at the parsonage in Madison, MN and they honeymooned at the Lac qui Parle County Fair.  After living in California and Florida, they made their home in Montevideo.  She worked as a nurses aide at the hospital for over 20 years and also at the court house cafeteria where she made her famous donuts.  She enjoyed square dancing with Bud with the “Monte Merry Squares”.  Ardyce was an avid bowler and she bowled in league for over 55 years and held a 96 average at the age of 90.  She was very active at Our Saviors Lutheran Church where she taught Bethel Bible Study with her husband, served on the Altar Guild, Ladies Aid, and Circle.  She was also a lifetime member of the Legion Auxiliary.  Ardyce enjoyed being a homemaker caring for her family, having special taco nights, and making lefse, lutefisk, klub and krumkake.

She is survived by six children: John Albrecht of Montevideo, Tom (Leanna) Albrecht of Montevideo, Priscilla Reineke of Alexandria, Warren (Annette) Albrecht of Montevideo, Layton Albrecht of Brainerd, and Emily Evenson of Montevideo; 28 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Willis Bremseth of Glenwood; sister, Gloria Johnson of Montevideo; sister-in-law, Barbara Bremseth of Litchfield and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Bud on February 17, 2003;  son, Carl Albrecht;  daughter, Avonelle Johnson;  daughter-in-law, Sandy Albrecht; son-in-law, Tom Reineke; grandson, Adam Albrecht; great-grandbabies: Solomon and Taedra; three brothers: Loren, Dick, and Roger; sisters-in-law: Lois.and Vonnie; and brother-in-law, Joel Johnson.
