Arlean Baird of Dawson, died Monday afternoon, March 14, 2011, at the Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 84. Memorial service: Friday, March 18, 2011, at 2:00 PM at the Antelope Hills Christian Church in rural Canby with Pastors Steven Maas and Bruce Rodrick officiating; readers were Robin Enstad and Dawn Gores; pianist, Barb Schoberg accompanied the singing of "What A Friend We Have In Jesus"' vocalists, David Gamble sang "Build Me A Mansion" and Kayla Yount sang "Amazing Grace"; son, Mike was urn bearer and all her grand, great and great-great grandchildren were honorary. Interment was in church cemetery. Visitation: Thursday from 5-7 PM with a prayer service at 6:30PM at the Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson and at the church for one hour prior to the service. Arlean C. Baird was born on May 22, 1926, in Lac Qui Parle County, the daughter of Axel and Rose (Connor) Hedberg. The majority of her life was spent in the Dawson area with a few brief years in Phoenix, Arizona. She was married twice in her life, initially to Milton Storlien of Dawson and later to James Baird of Madison. Arlean passed into the arms of our Lord on Monday, March 14, 2011, at the Johnson Memorial Care Center in Dawson at the age of 84. She is survived by her daughter, Kay (Dale) Peterson of rural Canby; son, Michael (Janice) Storlien of Carmel, Indiana; 4 grandchildren: Robin (Chad) Enstad of Little Falls, MN, Dawn (Travis) Gores of Springfield, SD, Brian (Sammi) Storlien of Aurora, CO, and Sean Storlien of Carmel, IN; 11 great-grandchildren: Devin Gores, Haley Gores, Logan Gores and Scott Gores of Springfield, SD; Kayla Yount, Taylor Yount, Rose Enstad and Gabriel Enstad of Little Falls, MN; Taylor Storlien and Ryan Storlien of Aurora, CO, and Destiny (Ryan) Thomas of Pender, NB; and 1 great-great-grandchild, Kaylynn Thomas of Pender, NB; sister, Doris Mjoness of Canby; brothers: Clarence (Louise) Hedberg of Cottage Grove, MN, and David (Ardith) Hedberg of Rochester, MN; other family and friends. Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Roselle Brockmueller; grandson, Scott Peterson; and great-grandchildren: Amber Yount and Zachary Gores. Blessed be her memory and peace to her family and friends that mourn her passing.
