Arlene Larson, of rural Milan, died on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at the Appleton Municipal Hospital at the age of 81. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 1:30 P.M. at the Big Bend Lutheran Church with Rev. Tom Opoien officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday afternoon and evening with the family being present from 5 - 7 PM and with a prayer service at 5:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Arlene Natalie (Torgeson) Larson was born on July 3, 1926 in Chippewa County, MN to Abner and Nettie (Olson) Torgeson. She was baptized on August 7, 1926 and confirmed in 1941 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of rural Watson, MN. She attended Appleton Public Schools. On December 10, 1944 she was united in marriage to Ray Larson at the Big Bend Lutheran Church. They spent their entire married life on farms in the Chippewa County area. She was a member of Big Bend Lutheran Church and active in its WELCA. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, rosemaling, listening to Twins games and especially her family.
She is survived by her husband, Ray; two sons: Gary Larson and his wife Kathy of Willmar, MN and Dale Larson and his wife Beth of Chanhassen, MN; six grandchildren: John Larson, Mark Larson, Christine Hunt, Eric Larson, Adria Larson and Cole Larson; eleven great-grandchildren: Brady, Halee, Taylor, Alex, Emily, Matthew, Kaitlyn, Sara, Lauren, Noah, Ross, Michaela and Seth; as well as by nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Luvern Torgeson; and a sister, Dorothy Pederson.
