Arlene Moen

Arlene Moen, of Milan, died Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Hennepin County Medical Center at the age of 84.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan.  Rev. Kristine Isder will officiate and interment will be in the Kviteseid Lutheran - Milan Methodist Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday. Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Arlene Moen was born in Montevideo on May 29, 1934 to Alfred and Emma (Enstrom) Martenson. They lived on a farm where Arlene and her sister Margaret would help with chores and work out in the field. Arlene attended country school until grade 8 and then finished high school at Montevideo Senior High School. She continued to work on the farm following high school. Arlene was united in marriage to Glenn Moen in 1972. They lived on a farm and she enjoyed being a farmer’s wife.

Arlene was an active member of Kvitseid Lutheran Church. On quilting day at the church, you would always find Arlene quietly working on the quilts for the church. She also enjoyed participating in her monthly birthday club. Family remembers Arlene as quiet, hardworking and independent. She spent her time making lefse, gardening, mowing lawn, traveling, fishing and going to rummage sales. She loved her cats and cared for a number of them inside and outside house. Arlene was also a good friend who was always happy to help others and visit them.

Arlene is survived by her sister, Margaret Knutson, Montevideo; nephews: James Knutson, Montevideo, David Knutson, Minneapolis; niece, Karla Knutson, Montevideo; great-nephew,Oscar Knutson and sister-in-law, Gloria Moen, Dawson.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Glenn, brothers-in-law: Julian Moen and Marvin Knutson.
