Arlene Nogaj passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the CCM Health Hospital & Clinics in Montevideo at the age of 79.

No formal funeral services will be held at Arlene's request.  Arrangements are with Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Arlene Annette (Grove) Nogaj was born on December 15, 1943 in Dawson, MN to John and Beatrice (Stempson) Grove. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Dawson, MN and attended Dawson Public Schools. She was united in marriage to Bruce Falla and to this union, three children were born (Laurie, Brent and Nikki). She was married later to Clarence Nogaj. Arlene was very intelligent and loved poetry, even writing her own. She was an excellent writer with a keen sense of humor and a great wit. She was a voracious reader and loved watching Jeopardy, playing Yahtzee and Bingo and spending time with family. Arlene was also an excellent cook and baker and always made her family their favorite birthday meal and favorite pie. She was also a wonderful lefse baker.

Arlene is survived by her former husband and best friend, Bruce Falla, of Montevideo, MN. She is also survived by her children: daughter Laurie L. Falla (Charles McGrew) of Richfield, MN; son Brent Falla (Corazon) of Murrieta, CA; and daughter Nikki R. Flatequal of Brandon, SD; grandchildren: Clarissa Kruse of Sioux Falls, SD, Paxton Flatequal (Britta Nyberg) of Shakopee, MN, Corina Baray (Dan) of Seattle, WA, and Sarah Falla of Murrieta, CA; sisters: Joyce Ojorden of Ventura, CA, Jana Grove Johnson of Tucson, AZ and Mary Lou Hemstad of Brooten, MN; as well as many nieces and nephews and former son-in-law, Todd Flatequal.

She was preceded in death by her grandchildren: Aaron Flatequal and Adam Flatequal; parents, John and Beatrice Grove; brothers: Larry Grove (Olga Yiparaki) and Bob Grove; brothers-in-law: Ron Opjorden, Gary Johnson and Steve Hemstad; nephew Eric Opjorden; and husband Clarence Nogaj.

We would like to thank the staff at Brookside Senior Living for the loving and excellent care they gave to Arlene over the years as well as Dr. Nicholas Krueger and the CCM Health Hospital & Clinics in Montevideo for the care and dignity given to Arlene in her final days.
