Arlene Wills of Montevideo died Friday, June 17, 2022, at Meadow Lane Restorative Care Center in Benson at the age of 90.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at 1:30 PM at The Refuge in Montevideo. Pastor Barry Brace will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Monday from 5-7:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home and also at the church for one hour before the service.
Arlene Wills was born January 31, 1932, in Rake, IA the daughter of Albert and Mary (Hofdmann) Jansen. She was united in marriage with Billy Dee Smith August 16, 1948. They made their home in Spencer, IA and had two daughters: DeVonne and DeEtte. Billy Dee died in an automobile accident November 13, 1965. On October 26, 1969, she was united in marriage with Ralph Wills at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. They lived in Sioux Rapids and in Worthington and Clara City MN for several years before moving to Montevideo in 1977. They were members of the Community Bible Church in Montevideo, now known as The Refuge. Ralph died February 27, 2010. Arlene worked at a dress shop, a jewelry store and a shoe store in Montevideo.
She is survived by two daughters: DeVonne Kolling of Kerkhoven, MN; DeEtte (Victor) Meyer of Broken Arrow, OK; six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, as well as by several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents and two husbands: Billy Dee Smith and Ralph Wills, and four brothers, Johnny, Rudy, Arlow and Marlow.
