Arlo Jerve, of Montevideo, died on Monday, March 22, 1999 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 68.
Memorial services will be conducted on Friday, March 26, 1999 at 10:30 AM at Jevnaker Lutheran Church with Rev. Gregory Gabriel officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4:30 PM until 7PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
Arlo Vernon Jerve was born on August 4, 1930 in Big Bend Township of Chippewa Co., MN to Ole and Laura (Laumb) Jerve. He was baptized and confirmed at Jevnaker Lutheran Church and graduated from Milan High School in 1948. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict and received the Purple Heart. On July 18, 1953 he was united in marriage to Shirley Christianson. He was a life member of the D.A.V., V.F.W. and American Legion. He was an avid reader, enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his family.
He is survived by a daughter - Laurie Mace and her husband Michael of Montevideo; 2 grandchildren - Jesse and Jenny; brothers - Sander Jerve of Glencoe, MN; Marvin Jerve of Montevideo and Gordon Jerve of Battle Lake, MN and by sisters - Gladys (Elmo) Andreas of Montevideo and Edna Hull of Montevideo.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by brothers - Clarence and Orville Jerve and by sisters - Avis Gallagher and Lucy Lomason.
