Arlow Grant

Arlow Grant, of Big Bend, died Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at the Appleton Care Center at the age of 93.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Big Bend Lutheran Cemetery with Pastor Kristine Isder officiating.  Arrangements are with Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Arlow Henry Grant, Jr. was born April 14, 1930 in Benson, MN the son of Arlow and Dagmar (Thompson) Grant.  He attended school in Milan and graduated in 1948.  Arlow served in the US Air Force in Korea.  He was united in marriage with Jane Brown in Webster, SD December 27, 1957.  They made their home in Big Bend.  Arlow was self employed as a well driller and plumber.  He was very handy and enjoyed doing many odd jobs.  He loved to do woodworking and working in the shop.  He sold items at craft shows for many years.

He is survived by his wife, Jane; three children: Kevin (Mary) Grant of Minneapolis, MN, Kathy (Jeff) Westmoreland of Knoxville, TN, and Michael Grant of Fairbanks, AK; four grandchildren: Sarah (Nick) Ellis, Joseph Westmoreland, Amy Grant, and David Grant; three great-grandchildren: Matthew, Cammie, and Mason; a sister-in-law Deanna Grant of Milan, MN; and seven nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; an infant daughter, Katherine; two brothers: Robert Grant and Jerome Grant in infancy; and a sister, Mary (Karan) Schmiesing.
