Arlyn Lopau

October 27, 1958 — September 10, 2020

Arlyn Lopau, of Dawson, died Thursday, September 10, 2020 at the St. Cloud Hospital at the age of 61.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the Dawson Covenant Church.  Private burial will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday from 12 noon until 2:00 PM.  Social distancing guidelines and the use of masks will be followed.  Arrangements are with Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson.

Arlyn Dean Lopau was born October 27, 1958 in Pipestone, MN the son of Milton and Florence (Graphenteen) Lopau.  He was baptized November 30, 1958 at Pipestone Methodist Church and confirmed December 6, 1981 at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison.  He attended high school in Pipestone and graduated from Pipestone Area Vocational Tech with a degree in meat cutting in 1977.  Arlyn was united in marriage with Julie Kittleson May 16, 1981 at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison.  They made their home on a farm south of Dawson and moved into Dawson in 1987.  He worked at Dawson Grain, AMPI, and at Westmor Industries in Morris.  Arlyn enjoyed spending time at the lake, where here he loved to fish, and playing cards at family events.  He also looked forward to spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Julie; three children: Kirsten (Shane) Kragness of Fergus Falls, Justin (Maria) Lopau of Alexandria, and Wendy (Travis) Olson of Coon Rapids; five grandchildren: Malayna, Marissa and Bentley Kragness and Brooklyn and Ruby Lopau; his mother-in-law, Doris Kittleson of Dawson; four sisters: Barb (Tom) Feuerhelm, Karen (Richard) Johnson, Rita (Dale) VonArb, and Jolene Lopau; four brothers: Ron Lopau, Randy (Donna) Lopau, Steve (Linda) Lopau, and Mark (Melissa) Lopau; four sisters-in-law: Gay Lopau, Lynn Lopau, Sandy Lopau, and Sharon Lopau; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his father-in-law L. Allen Kittleson; granddaughter, Faith Rose Lopau; and four brothers: Edward, Merlyn, Delwin, and David Lopau.
