Arnold Coulter, of rural Maynard, died Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at the Chippewa County - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 84. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at the Maynard Presbyterian Church in Maynard with the Rev. Beverly Crute officiating. Interment will be at Terrace Lawn Memory Gardens, rural Montevideo. Visitation will be Friday afternoon and evening with the family present from 6-8 P.M. and a prayer service at 6:30 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo. Arnold Lee Coulter, the son of Harold and Sarah (Tebben) Coulter, was born March 9, 1924 in Stoneham Township, Chippewa County, MN and he attended school at Maynard. Arnold was united in marriage with Marie Sorensen July 30, 1944 at the Presbyterian Parsonage in Kerkoven, MN. They made their home in rural Maynard. Arnold was a farmer and he worked at the Southern MN Sugarbeet Coop for several years. He enjoyed doing volunteer work. He was a 4-H leader and drove for meals on wheels. Arnold was active at the First Presbyterian Church in Maynard where he served as treasurer for many years, was a past trustee, and an elder. He liked all animals but had a passion for dogs and horses. Arnold played baseball, enjoyed reading, woodworking, and growing flower gardens. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Marie; five children: Gary ( Becky Baker) Coulter of Maynard, MN, Glen (Leanna) Coulter of Great Falls, MT, Lee ( Helen) Coulter of Lawton, IA, Marilyn (Lyn Redding) Coulter of Eden Prairie, MN, and Cindy (Harold) Ellingboe of Maynard, MN; ten grandchildren: Glenis (Mike) Elliott, Michael (Jana) Coulter, Scott (Angela) Coulter, Rebecca (Kirk) Weber, Justin (Jennifer) Coulter, Jeffery (Doni) Coulter, Patrick (Amy) Coulter, Shawn (Kara) Brandt, Renee'' Brandt, and Marie Anderson; twenty-one great-grandchildren: Erik, Grant, Amanda, Michael, Zachary, Vivian, Rachel, Bryanna, Sierra, Claire, Laiken, Kaden, Madison, Payton, Delanie, Kaylie, Braden, Carsen, Morgan, Adam, and Rachel; one brother, Ralph (Lela) Coulter of Maynard, MN; and one sister, Myrtle Raebel of Montevideo, MN. Preceding him in death were his parents, Harold ("Pete") and Sarah Coulter, and a brother-in-law, Cliff Raebel.
