Arnold Gahr, Glen Oaks Home in New London, died on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Carris Hospital in Willmar, at the age of 93.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 27, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo. Rev. Donald S. McKee will officiate and interment will be at Sunset Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held for one hour before the funeral at the funeral home.
Arnold Gahr was born on April 16, 1928 to August and Emma (Storebo) Gahr. Arnold attended District 22 School until the 8th grade. He loved working on the farm and was a very hard worker. He worked on the farm until his father’s sudden passing. Arnold moved with his mother Emma into Montevideo where he did a wonderful job of taking care of her and keeping a very tidy home. Arnold enjoyed holiday visits from his sister, Millie, brother-in-law, Kenneth and nephew, Brian. They would often go out to eat and then go to the movie theater.
Arnold was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Montevideo until his mother’s passing. Following his mother’s death Arnold lived for many years at Fourth Avenue Homes in Spicer, MN. Due to his health issues Arnold moved to Glen Oaks in New London, for the last couple years of his life.
Arnold is survived by sister: Millie (Kenneth) Narr, Arlington, MN; nieces: Kristie Moldenhauer, Chaska, MN, Kathy (Ken) Wagner, Belle Plaine, MN, Julie (Al) Fortman, St. Bonifacius, MN; nephew: Brian Narr, Arlington, MN; great nieces: Gabby and Ivy Fortman, St. Bonifacius, MN, great nephews: Brett (Kristen) Moldenhauer, Minneapolis, MN, Collin Moldenhauer, Chaska, MN, Michael (Missy) Wagner, Belle Plaine, MN and their children: Everett and Isabella, and Tony Wagner, Belle Plaine, MN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
