Arthur Lyle Moe

Arthur Moe, of Milan, MN, died on Friday November 15, 1996 at the Appleton Nursing Home in Appleton, MN at the age of 82.

Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, November 18, 1996 at 10:30 AM at the Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan with Rev. Wayne Anderson officiating.  Burial will be in the Watson Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening  with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo, and for one hour prior to the services at the church.

Arthur Lyle Moe was born on October 17, 1914 in Madison, MN to Martin and Lena (Torper) Moe.  He was baptized at the Ness Lutheran Church .  At the age of 4 his mother died and he lived with his foster parents - the Otter Wenskaugs.  He attended rural schools and was confirmed at Borgund Lutheran Church of rural Madison.  On June 29, 1947 he was united in marriage to Coyla Kalmoe at the Zion Lutheran Church of Appleton, MN.  Following their marriage, Art farmed and did carpentry work in the Milan area.  In 1966 they moved into Milan, where he continued his carpentry work.  He was currently a resident of the Appleton Nursing Home.  He was a member of Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan.

He is survived by his wife, Coyla; one son, David (Mary) Moe of Milan;  two grandsons: Dan (Sara) Moe of Montevideo and Marty (Melissa) Moe of Dawson; two great-grandchildren: Lyndsey Moe of Montevideo and Mitchell Moe of Dawson; a niece, 3  nephews and several foster nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Wally Moe; and two sisters: Julia Moen and Millie Mork.
