Arthur Marvin Steffenson

Arthur Steffenson of rural Appleton, died on Wednesday, December 8, 1999 at his home at the age of 75.

Funeral services were be conducted on Saturday, December 11, 1999 at 1:00 PM at Kviteseid Lutheran Church in Milan with Rev. Wayne Anderson officiating.  Burial was in the church cemetery.  Anderson Funeral Home of Montevideo is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Arthur Marvin Steffenson was born on October 3, 1924 in Lac Qui Parle Co., Minnesota to Steffen and Hazel (Nelson) Steffenson.  He was baptized on Nov. 2, 1924 and confirmed on Sept. 26, 1937 at Watson Lutheran Church.  He graduated from Montevideo High School in 1942.  On October 30, 1947 he was united in marriage to Grace Paulson at Big Bend Lutheran Church.  They farmed in rural Montevideo until moving to a farm in rural Appleton in 1956.  He was a member of Kviteseid Lutheran Church for over 43 years and had served as an usher and a Deacon.  He enjoyed mechanical things as well as growing melons, potatoes and vegetables.

He is survived by his wife - Grace; daughters - Arlyce Dolven and her husband Terry of Montevideo and Julie Boettcher and her husband Gary of Montevideo; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and a sister - Helen Johnson of Boyd, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by a brother - Palmer Steffenson.
