Arthur Omar Stolen

Arthur Stolen, of Montevideo, died on Saturday, September 28, 1996 at the Chippewa Co - Montevideo Hospital at the age of 82.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday October 2, 1996 at 11:00 AM at Bergen Lutheran Church with Rev. David Mesner officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and evening at the Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Arthur Omar Stolen was born on May 16, 1914 in Lac Qui Parle Co., MN to Elias and Ellen (Hagen) Stolen.  He was confirmed at Bergen Lutheran Church and attended rural schools at District #17 in Stoney Run Township.  He was united in marriage to Gladys Graue on March 3, 1940 in Montevideo.  They farmed for many years and he also worked for the Green Co. as an equipment operator prior to retirement.  They moved to Montevideo in 1992. He was a member of Bergen Lutheran Church and the 49ers Union.

He is survived by a son - Derrick Stolen and his wife Hannelore of North St. Paul, MN and by a daughter - Gail Eide and her husband LeRoy of Foley, MN; and grandchildren - Angelica Needham and her husband Gregory of St. Paul, MN; and Laurel Eide and Josh Eide of Foley, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, by his wife Gladys in 1992; by an infant son - Allen; by brothers - Joel, Rudolph, Elmer and Clarence Stolen
