Barbara Joy Clauss

Barbara Clauss died Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the Clara City Care Center at the age of 76.

Private funeral services will be held.

Arrangements are with Anderson - TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.

Barbara Joy (Wik) Clauss was born on August 14, 1945 in Clovis, New Mexico to Melvin C. And Phyllis (Sundem) Wik.  She grew up in Montevideo and graduated from Montevideo High School.  She attended Gustavus College in St. Peter, MN.  Barbara moved from Minnesota to California in the 1970's, and in November of 1980 she was united in marriage to James Clauss in Sacramento, CA., They lived in California until moving back to Montevideo in 2011 following her diagnosis of Alzheimers, and lived there until 2013, when she entered the Clara City Care Center in Clara City.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 41 years - James Clauss of Madison Lake, MN; twin sister, Gail Einerson of Gold River; CA; brother, James Wik of Eagan, MN; and niece, Jamie and her daughter Lili.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents - Melvin and Phyllis Wik.

The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to all of Barbara’s classmates and friends for all their support.  Jim would like to express his deep appreciation and affection for the staff at Clara City Care Center for their loving and tireless care during her final years.
