Barbara (Long) Frederickson

November 23, 1953 — August 2, 2017

Barb Frederickson, of Sacred Heart, died Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at her home in Sacred Heart, MN at the age of 63.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 11,  2017 at 10:30 AM at the Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home Chapel in Montevideo with Rev. Leslie B. Knutson officiating.  Burial will be at Ten Mile Lake Cemetery in rural Boyd.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 10, 2017 from 5-7 PM at Anderson-TeBeest Funeral Home in Montevideo.  Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service on Friday.

Barbara Jean (Long) Frederickson was born on November 23, 1953 in Champaign, IL to John and Lillie (Combs) Long.  Barb graduated high school from Urbana, IL and attended college for computer programming.  She worked at the courthouse and was telephone dispatch for a towing company.

Barb was married to John LeRoy Cook in 1970 in Champaign, IL and together, they had a son, John.  Barb married Richard Frederickson on December 2, 1993 in Paxton, IL.  The couple moved to Minnesota in 1996.  After his death in 2014, she started working at Wal-Mart as a greeter.  Barb was a real people person and liked her job as a greeter.  She also like to spend time with her grandchildren and baking together was one of their favorite activities.

Barb is survived by her son, John (Sarah) Cook of Sacred Heart, MN; 3 grandchildren: Eric, Lilly, and John, Jr.; 2 sisters: Thelma (Joe) Stoltz of Topeka, KS and Judy Knopf of Champaign, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are her husband, Richard Frederickson; her parents; brother, John Long; brother-in-law, Dennis Christianson; and nephew, Sammy.
